Quite the Fall

The fastest surefire way to get me to do something? Get me drunk, take me to a salesperson, let them talk me up, and then put a $200 deposit down on my behalf.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how Ben got me to the top of a bungee jumping platform.

We met a nice couple from Wisconsin at our favorite sushi restaurant EVER (sidenote: here is a picture of me eating life-changing sushi at Kappa in Queenstown), after one bottle (okay, two bottles) of wine.
They told us how they had just gone bungee jumping that afternoon and was amazing and all of that nonsense. I was making polite conversation and feigning interest in this ridiculous activity, when Ben interpreted that as potential interest.

He promptly grabs my hand, says goodbye to the couple and marches me right across the street to the nice bungee jumping salesman who takes over on his behalf.

While I think we're still talking about it, Ben has already paid a nice sum of (non-refundable) money. Oh perfect.

After "oversleeping", getting "lost", "missing" 5 parking spots, and running 40 minutes late for our scheduled time, I thought for sure we would be able to just head to the airport.
Much to my dismay these AJ Hackett people are courteous, and accommodating, and easy going, and very nice.

I full on panic once I get up to the platform, and the nice bungee man looks me dead in the eye and says "The longer you think about this, the harder this is going to be." So, on the count of two, I throw myself off the ledge before I can see what's beyond it.

When I sent this pic to my mom with the caption of "Look what I did!!" Her text response was "Oh honey, are you okay? It looks like you took quite the fall."

Ben, on the other hand, does a very graceful and smiley Superman swan dive, and is basically a professional bungee jumper.

Overall, would I go back and do it? Yes. Will I ever do it again? Hell to the no. Hell no.
